I’m Ian Stapleton and I’m a freelance web developer based in the UK.

I’ve been working with the web for over ten years – the last seven of which have been at a professional level: first with a London based agency and lately flying solo as a freelance developer for hire. Despite the countless late nights and constant head scratching, I still find the job as interesting and motivating today as I did when I first started hacking away.

I believe passionately that it is functionality that makes a great site or application – an eye catching design isn’t enough to keep people engaged and encourage repeated use. I especially enjoy integrating open-source tools into bespoke applications – providing complete ’360 degree’ solutions which are based on a solid foundation of tried and tested software.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, I find the most rewarding projects are those that feature software at the extreme ends of the computing timeline: bringing archaic systems to new audiences on the web or working at the cutting edge with new and ground-breaking software.
